Here is a 1971 Mack D M-600 (sheet metal hood) with a 35 yard Fruehauf dump trailer. The tractor has the actual patriotic paint scheme that was available by Mack at the time. I painted the trailer to match. The white stars and stripes decals came with the D M-800 kit from MPC General mills and Ertl. I also used the D M-600 kit (which has the fiberglass hood) from Ertl as well as the dump trailer. I cut the D M-800 front frame hooks off and attached them to the front of the 600 frame. Then I cut the fenders and hood to fit from the cab to the radiator. Then I cut an angle from top of the hoods to line up with the radiator. I cut the rear springs so the rear axles are closer to each other. The bumper is from the 800 kit. Everything else is per the instructions.
I added a plastic to the top of the trailer to make it higher. I did not want to use the wood planks it comes with. The fenders are made from the ones that come with the tractor kits. The axles were shortend in width to make them fit better. Otherwise they stick out wider than the trailer body. The trailer is all paint accept for the stars which come from the 800 kit. All the mud flap decals were made on the computer.
